— A note from behind the scenes of Wear Your Nightmares
If there’s one thing I’ve learned while building this shop, it’s this:
Not everyone is going to “get it.”
And honestly… that used to bother me.
Some people land on the site and think the designs are too soft — not dark enough, not disturbing enough, not true horror.
Others see the same designs and laugh, call them weird, silly, or “too much.”
And then there are those who simply scroll past, uncomfortable, maybe even a little offended by what they see.
That’s the strange thing about creating something personal — it puts you right in the middle of everyone’s opinions.
But here’s the truth I keep coming back to:
There is no right or wrong way to love horror.
Some days, horror is gothic, heavy, and atmospheric — shadows, skulls, and whispers in the dark.
Other days, it’s playful. It’s ironic. It’s a shirt that makes you laugh just a little too loud in a quiet room.
And I live in both worlds.
There are moments I feel pulled deeper into the gothic — wanting to create something darker, something that lingers.
Then, just as quickly, I’ll have an idea that’s ridiculous, funny, and impossible not to smile at.
Maybe that means I’m still finding my way.
But here’s the thing — I’m already on a path.
And maybe that’s what this shop really is. Not a perfectly defined brand. Not a neatly boxed category.
But a journey.
A place where horror fans — whether you love the eerie silence of a haunted house or the absurd chaos of a B-movie creature — can find something that feels like you.
We’re living in a golden age for horror right now.
Low-budget films are rising to the top, proving you don’t need massive budgets to create something unforgettable.
Streaming platforms are packed with shows that dive deep into psychological fear, folklore, and everything in between.
And as the days slowly get shorter…
Halloween is waiting, just on the horizon.
You can feel it.
That shift.
That excitement.
That call to something darker, something different.
So maybe the goal isn’t to please everyone.
Maybe the goal is simpler than that.
If you find a shirt here that makes you feel something — a laugh, a chill, a spark of recognition — then it’s the right one.
Because at the end of the day, I don’t want you to wear what’s “acceptable.”
I want you to wear what feels like you.
So whether you lean gothic, playful, unsettling, or somewhere in between…
Step into it. Embrace it.
It’s time to step up your game.
